Marcel O’Connor is showing new encaustic paintings at the Fire Station Creative Gallery in Dunfermline until the 29th of October.
‘The ancient art and traditional techniques of Wax Encaustic combined with an Abstract Expressionistic approach’. Marcel O’Connor is the recipient of a major award from the Jackson Pollock Foundation in New York.
Marcel’s mixed-media pieces combine beeswax, microcrystalline wax, resins and oil paint. These are fused with heat to create rich, semi-translucent surfaces of subtle colour sensations.
