We’d like to invite four members of the Society of Scottish Artists to be part the Hanging, Arranging and Installation Committee for OPEN – SSA & VAS TOGETHER 2018
The Society of Scottish Artists is an artist-led membership organisation and encourages all members to contribute to the Society and its activities. This is your opportunity to shape the presentation of our next annual exhibition, OPEN – SSA & VAS TOGETHER 2018.
What’s involved?
The Hanging, Arranging and Installation Committee will work with members of the SSA & VAS Councils, artists and the installation team on the presentation of OPEN 2018.
You will need to be at the RSA Upper Galleries on Monday 22 January 2018 and be available through the week until Thursday 25 January. (We realise that this is a huge demand on your time so some flexibility will be considered but you must be available on Monday 22nd from 12 noon – 6 pm)
OPEN 2018 will feature several curated elements alongside artworks in a vast range of media.
What are we looking for?
Artists with a hands-on approach and an eye for detail, you will be experienced in exhibition presentation and confident in handling artworks with the ability to work as part of a busy team with tight deadlines.
We are looking for members who have technical experience of working with digital work and new media, site-specific work and installations, as well as more traditional exhibition hangs.
All members are welcome to apply. We are interested to hear from Society members who have not previously taken part in exhibition committees.

What happens next?
The SSA membership will be invited to vote on applications and the persons with the most votes will be invited to be part of the Committee.
