Africa Connect: Sharing Space

Su Grierson will be showing a selection of videos at The Fergusson Gallery in Perth as part of the Perth Platform Festival 2018. These films were made with Adam Chienjo and Izo Anyanga from Kenya during their month as Artists in Residence at Perth Museum & Art Gallery last October. There is a documentation of their exuberant drumming and movement community and schools workshops, improvisation sessions and an evocative concert with Claire Hewitt in the Scottish Crannog on Loch Tay. Additional videos relate to their journeys around Perthshire creating their own creative responses to the history, people and places by performing and playing for camera.

Their visit was arranged and facilitated by Perthshire Visual artist Su Grierson as part of her LookLook art project, which has brought over 60 international artists to Perthshire since 2001. She was their host and project organiser as well as the filmmaker for the project.

The project has been supported by Perth Museum & Art Gallery and by a Perth Creative Communities award.

The exhibition runs 20th – 31st March. 10-5pm daily: closed Sunday and Monday.
